I am wondering if this - which I was sent last week - is the dullest 'news' story ever seen, highlighting what local media can be like sometimes?Needless to say I shared it with a friend who works at Amazon immediately!
Also, I don't speak Dutch but even I can work out that this is a rather unfortunate example of advertising placement in a newspaper:
Some years ago, before e-on swallowed it up, PowerGen decided to open a website for their Italian operation. They decided to call it PowerGen Italia. The URL they registered was www.powergenitalia.com, which - if you read it slightly differently, has a completely different meaning ;-)
For some reason the URL disappeared after only a few months!
Not sure about "dull" but it does prove that, contrary to offical reports, stupidity might just be the most common element in the Universe after all ;-)
It's worse than that. It's a German paper not dutch!
ReplyDeleteOops, I'd have recognised it were it Maori if that helps :-)

PS it was sent to me by a friend in Amsterdam!
Back when the BP oil depot exploded in 2005 I caught these gems of misplaced advertising on the Sky News website:

Talking of unfortunate and e-on...
